Structure Intent manifesto and repository published

Version 0.2 of the manifesto, a draft notation for structured intent, and a worked example with Rust and Python implementations.

The Structure Intent manifesto is now published, along with an open code repository to help people start structuring intent.

The repository includes:

  • a draft notation for writing structured intent in YAML, with a validator
  • templates for a function, a service, and lifting intent from existing code
  • prompts for each road: author, lift, merge, discover, lower and review
  • a worked example: one intent, implemented in both Rust and Python, with an honest report of what each implementation proves, tests or only assumes

The example includes a mutation test that measures how complete the intent is. It caught 12 of 14 deliberately broken versions of the code, and one of the survivors exposed a real gap in the intent, now recorded as an open question. That is the discipline working as intended: measuring the intent, not just the code.

Everything is a draft and meant to be argued with. Criticism and contributions are welcome on GitHub.
